Gendai budo

Gendai budo (現代 武道 the "g" in gendai is a hard "g" as in the English word "grapple") means "modern martial arts" in Japanese. Gendai Budo refers to Judo, Kendo, Kyudo, Aikido and so on, which were established after the Meiji Restoration in Japan. Most Gendai Budo trace their roots various koryu budo forms.
