Hombu dojo

Hombu dojo literally means "home dojo" in Japanese and can refer to any number of martial arts dojo depending on the organizational context.

Unqualified in the Aikido, hombu dojo usually refers to the home dojo of the Aikikai in Tokyo, Japan, though of course this definition is highly subjective. More commonly one will hear other hombu dojo qualified such as Yoshinkai Hombu Dojo but this usage is far from universal.
